Next 50: Project Details | dodgers.com | Solarfinder.org Make Yourself Heard

Ok. The Los Angeles Dodgers are the princes of the baseball field to me. Even before I could fathom what baseball was, the Brooklyn Dodgers were battling it out to prove that they were in fact the king of the field and the aces in the whole.

Little did the establishment of baseball fully understand at the time, but the idea that baseball needed the best players, no matter their nationality race or creed, they brought on a colored player. From that time on, the game was changed forever. It has led the league in providing a unique atmosphere that is conducive to the crowd and players alike. They started what we know today as the Community Investment Act, by getting out to the community and lending a helping hand. And when I say "They Started", I mean that they were in fact out and about well before it was a MLB Function to do so.

If you've ever been to Dodger Stadium, you have to say that the experience is next to none. From the moment you pull into the parking lot, you can tell that there's something special about the ground you're on. It's hallowed ground, a place where baseball greats have grown and been a part of. When you park your car and you head into the different entrances, the expectation of greatness is still evoked. You can hear the batting practice going on, the crowds anticipation for a good game, and the smell of the good old "Dodger Dog", which is the most fabulous foot long hotdog ever created. You give you ticket to the ticking guard/attack dog, and you enter into the halls of greatness. If you pause and close your eyes, you can hear the call of Fernando Valenzuela on the radio, Kurts final home run to send the greats to another pennant win, Steve Garvey catching yet another double play thrown to first, and most of all, the five year old that is screaming because he just witnessed his first home run. It's the environment, the history that evokes nostalgia and wanting. It's the people and the comradery that you lean to strive for and share, as it is something terrific and something that is bigger than you. It's something positive that you can be a part of, simply because you know for a fact that you can look back and say I knew when, and be honest because the experience still waifs through your brain. The visceral experience is paramount at who you are and the excellence you strive to achieve in your own life.

Now, as if to change the experience of an aging icon, Dodger ownership is looking to change the look and feel of the cultural and historical icon of what Dodger Stadium has come to embody. I have attached the link below for you to view. I know that for me, the jury is out, simply because it looks as if they are trying to squeeze money out of the fans by upscaling the environment, which in my opinion seems as if it will actually take your focus off of the team and the Game itself. You be the judge, and please give me your feedback.

This is fantastic. It's strange to think that there's only 20,000 years that differentiate what we used to be to what we are now. Check out this article at MSN for a quick view.
